For any star an opportunity to get an Oscar is a great honor, regardless of the size of the fee and the number of roles played. Therefore, it is easy to guess that a measure of talent in Hollywood is shown by the number of Oscars. The list of champions is below.
Walt Disney – the absolute champion
Walt Disney, the most famous animator, writer, director and talented actor, is the total champion. He was nominated for the most prestigious award in the art of cinema 59 times and was awarded 26 Oscars, 3 of which were honorable.
4 awards at the same time Walt Disney received for the documentary feature films “Live Desert”, “Alaskan Eskimo”, “Buzz, Whistle, Ringing and Hum” and “Country of Bears”. This significant event occurred only once in the history. Moreover, Disney was nominated even after his death: in 1969 (the date of death of the cinema genius – 1966) his work “Winnie the Pooh and Day of Cares” was given an award.
US actress Katharine Hepburn (female record holder) was awarded 4 Oscars for virtuoso playing roles in the films “Early Glory” (1934), “Guess Who Will Come to Dinner?” (1968), “The Lion in Winter” ( 1968) and On the Golden Lake (1982). All her Oscars Katharine won in one single category — “The Best Actress”. And there is no any surprise!
Swedish-American actress Ingrid Bergman was rewarded with 3 Oscars: two statuettes in the category “The Best Female Role” for film “Gas Light” (1932) and “Anastasia” (1957), as well as for the virtuoso role, played on the 2nd plan in “Murder on the Orient Express” (1975).
